Keeping with the spirit of this blog—celebrating these days the indie and independent side of country music—today we’re diving into All In, the 2023 full-length debut from Cort Carpenter. While technically his first album, it hardly feels like a debut. Carpenter began his journey back in 2013 with a traditional country EP, quickly followed by two more EPs that leaned closer to country-pop. Over the next ten years, he released a steady stream of singles, some breaking through more than others, building a catalog that made him feel like a “young veteran” by the time All In arrived.

Jonny Houlihan: The Troubadour of Indie Country

The production is polished yet retains the warmth of indie authenticity, making it one of the most beautiful and genuine country records of 2026.

It’s the kind of album that speaks directly to anyone who grew up in a small town or carries those roots in their heart. Houlihan doesn’t just tell his story—he invites listeners to relive their own. In that sense, 119 Grove St. is not only a personal memoir but also a communal celebration of country life.

Produced by singer-songwriter Jonny Houlihan, Love gathers many of James’s early singles into a cohesive collection. The record balances romantic ballads with songs that celebrate brotherhood and resilience, echoing the timeless themes that country music has always embraced.

Besides, another tracks not included on this EP like Forgotten Man and Borderline showcase James’s ability to blend vulnerability with strength, while Ironworker Anthem pays tribute to working-class pride. But on the softer side of Timothy James, Love captures the warmth of romantic devotion, making it one of his musical carrer standout moments.

What makes Timothy James compelling isn’t just the music—it’s the persona.
